At the time of this writing it is the morning of New Years Eve. I’ve spent the last few days looking back on the things I’ve done this year and the photos I’ve made in order to put this blog together. 2018 was a challenging year for me in many ways but sprinkled throughout were some amazing moments and incredible travels.
Here is my 2018
January - Stayed close to home and photographed the gorgeous winter we had
February- Took a day trip to Des Moines, Iowa
February - New York City to celebrate my wife’s birthday
February- First Milky Way core of the year
March- Met my friends in the desert for a week of photography in Death Valley National Park
April- Chased a storm and photographed the aftermath of a wildfire
May- Woke up early and explored some gravel roads. Photographed another storm
June- Photographed some barns
June- Photographed another storm and the College World Series Fireworks with my friend Laura
June- Went to Colorado with my wife and stayed at the best Airbnb and made friends with an alpaca and a pig
June- Spend some time photographing the Missouri River flooding
July- Stayed out late under the stars
July- Road tripped to northern Minnesota
July- and Wisconsin
August- Photographed the fog
August- Quick weekend trip to Chicago
September- Spent some time photographing these old buildings in north downtown Omaha
October- Fall color in Iowa and carved pineapples for Halloween
November- First snow
November- The snow melted
November- Spent a week on the Big Island of Hawai’i
December- Island hopped to Kaua’i
December- Photographed the Holiday Lights at Gene Leahy Mall In Omaha one last time before the redevelopment
December- After meeting on Instagram, I finally became real life friends with Brandon Knickerbocker. He took my portrait.
That’s a wrap on my 2018! I’m excited to see what awaits in 2019. Thanks for following along on my journey, and I hope you stick around for new adventures in 2019!
